Low design? The Jakob Hotel stands for cultivated simplicity. For the twenty rooms of various sizes located in an old town house, I designed a furniture system that also serves long-term guests. The table can be used as a work desk that can be moved freely; the open shelves ensure that guests leave nothing behind. The coloured ceiling mirrors are eye-catchers and room decorations at the same time. In the wedding room, the coloured panelling helps to create the mood. And should you be on your pilgrimage on the Camino to Santiago, the hotel also offers two simple pilgrim rooms with shared showers. In the restaurant, the tailored colouring of the walls creates a new interplay with the existing red floor – an effective as well as cost-effective intervention.
